Following the powerful the Future is Ethical session at the 2024 International Cooperation Futures forum, Cooperation Canada is proud to announce the release of a new Ethical Storytelling resource.

The 2024 Forum brought together 400+ participants from civil society, academia, government and international organizations to explore ways to address global challenges and drive positive change. Held from October 8–10, 2024, at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre, the event sparked innovative ideas, strategic discussions and cross-sector collaboration.

Amid this dynamic environment, the Future is Ethical session stood out as a space to explore, challenge and reshape narratives for a more ethical and impactful future. Featuring Melissa Fundira, Flavie Halais, Rana Nazzal Hamadeh, Jackline Kemigisa, and Celia Romulus, the conversation invited participants to rethink how stories are told — and who gets to tell them — in international cooperation.

Building on this dialogue, the new Cooperation Canada Ethical Storytelling Resource — Explore, Challenge and Reshape Narratives for a More Ethical and Impactful Future offers key insights and best practices for ethical communication. It showcases diverse perspectives that challenge conventional narratives and invite reflection to improve storytelling, strengthen partnerships and support a more inclusive and sustainable future.

Through this work, Cooperation Canada reaffirms that the future is ethical — one where our stories not only inform, but also empower, respect and build solidarity.
