Overview

On 25 November 2025, the Grants and Contribution Transformation Initiative (GCTI) co-hosted a virtual forum with Cooperation Canada for organizations involved or interested in Global Affairs Canada’s (GAC) international assistance programs. The event brought together 395 participants from organisations across the world to learn about the latest GCTI updates and the future of grants and contributions modernisation.

Forum Highlights

Presenters shared updates on:

  • Key achievements of the Partner Advisory Group and its sub-working groups
  • Findings from the recent Canada Fund for Local Initiatives pilot project
  • New digital tools to support partners
  • Artificial Intelligence features designed to improve user experience

The session also featured an interactive Q&A, where participants asked about timelines, compliance, and equitable access to GAC systems and processes.

Next Steps

The next forum in this series is tentatively scheduled for spring 2026.
