Les membres du Groupe de travail Asie-Pacifique nouent des liens plus étroits lors de leur réunion annuelle 2019
Le Groupe de travail de l’Asie-Pacifique (GTAP) a tenu une réunion annuelle fructueuse les 25 et 26 juin 2019 à Ottawa, avec un total de 34 participants provenant de 17 organisations. L’événement a été suivi d’un dialogue conjoint stratégique avec la division Asie-Pacifique d’Affaires mondiales Canada, qui comptait 33 représentants gouvernementaux présents et qui ont également participé aux discussions.
Le premier jour de la réunion, les membres du GTAP se sont réunis aux bureaux du CCCI pour discuter du lien entre l’aide humanitaire et le développement. Animée par Aislynn Row (Réseau d’intervention humanitaire du Canada-CCCI), la discussion a accueilli les panélistes Tess Bayombong (Care Canada), Jesse Augustin (Développement et Paix), Dilip Chinnakonda (CECI) et Grace Wiebe (World Renew). Les sujets portant sur la sécurité, la paix et les droits de la personne dans la région Asie-Pacifique ont fait l’objet d’un autre débat entre Nikki Richard (Inter Pares) et Rachel Warden (KAIROS Canada), et avec pour modératrice Andréanne Martel (du programme conjoint Prochaine Génération de CCCI-CASID).
Le dialogue conjoint avec l’AMC a débuté à la suite des allocutions d’ouverture prononcées par Jess Augustin (Développement et Paix), Maggie Zeng (Christian Children’s Fund of Canada), Monika Surma et Sarah Taylor (toutes deux d’Affaires mondiales Canada). Les participants se sont ensuite joints à des ateliers thématiques portant sur le développement et les États en déroute et touchés par des conflits ; l’aide humanitaire et l’aide au développement ; et également les droits de la personne et le développement. Un rapport conjoint GTAP-AMC sera publié dans les semaines à venir, résumant les principaux points de discussion, les principales conclusions et les recommandations.
