The 2020 CCRDA Faith, Food, and Farming Workshop will help you to consider food from a variety of perspectives from mere sustenance to an experience of the sacred, from individual eating habits to larger consumption trends, from domestic challenges of urban food deserts to global suffering and excess, from theological reflection to technical best-practice. The workshop will also examine the role of the Covid-19 pandemic to reveal a broken global food system as well as to exacerbate a looming crisis.

On October 7-8, listen and interact with keynote speaker Norman Wirzba along with other contributors ranging from academics to FAO staff and agriculture practitioners.  You will come away from this workshop challenged personally and professionally, convinced that Christian faith has something significant to say about the way we ought to produce, distribute, and consume food.

Raised on a farm in Southern Alberta, Norman Wirzba went on to study history at the University of Lethbridge, theology at Yale University Divinity School, and philosophy at Loyola University Chicago. Since then he has taught at Saint Thomas More College/University of Saskatchewan, Georgetown College (KY), and Duke University Divinity School. He’s the father of four children and is married to Gretchen Ziegenhals. He has written many books and articles including “Food and Faith: A Theology of Eating”.  Learn more about Norman here.
