This is a basic training on personal security aimed at preparing Humanitarian Staff travelling to low and moderate risk locations to prevent and respond to a number of different incidents from individual and team perspectives. The two days in-person training will cover: Risk appetite, Situational awareness, Gender diversity and risk, Community acceptance, Theft, hotel safety, Motor vehicle accidents, Terrorism, Active shootings, Political and civil unrest, Natural disasters, Sexual violence, and Resilience.

Target audience
Humanitarian staff travelling to low and moderate risk locations. HRN members will be considered in priority, but the training will also meet the needs of humanitarian professionals and practitioners of Canadian Development and Humanitarian organizations and/or students in Development and/or Humanitarian affairs who may visit low and moderate risk locations.
