The general aims of the training are to contribute to the development of critical skills to better understand the issues and challenges surrounding the development of a gender-sensitive approach to humanitarian action and to help build the capacity of HRN members in terms of gender equality in emergency situations, particularly in relation to the various tools developed following the adoption of the Canadian government’s feminist aid policy. It will cover aspects of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Gender-based violence, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Psychological first aid, Canadian government’s feminist aid policy and look at the gap between the policy and the realities in the field and intervention contexts.
